TBM, C-54, Gunnery, and some really great general manuals added this week!

And not just that - DC-6, T-28, and several training manuals that you'll definitely want to take a look at.

Aircraft Manuals:

After a recent visit to the Naval Museum in Pensacola (this week) I got a chance to sit down with the gentleman who set up their technical library - a really great experience. Among the things I learned, was that "Natops" is a general term used to identify the pilots handbook for an aircraft in the Navy. So saying "hand me the Natops" just means "throw me the pilots manual!".

Additionally, the 16 supplements of the B-25 Mitchell Service School Lectures will no doubt be of interest to any B-25 enthusiast. North American Aviation published these series for each of their aircraft, and they are broken down into the different systems within an aircraft. Each one gives a general description of the system, in addition to specifics on installation, wiring, operation, and more!

Component Manuals:

This weeks offering of component manual runs from the very technical (overhauling a thermostatic actuator) to very high level (conventional military symbols and abbreviations). While these manuals are scattered throughout the components area, it's worth it to track them down, The AF, TM, and FM manuals are always a great source for general information, and most often have great illustrations.

General Manuals:

These five manuals are all really interesting in their own way. For example, the "Insignia worn by the US Army, Navy, and Marine Corps" is a brochure that was actually published by a candy shop chain called the Funny Farmer! Other items like "Don't Get Killed by Mines and Booby Traps" reads like a comic book while "Going Back to Civilian Life" deals with serious topics like life insurance, getting your old job back, and filing for disability, just to name a few.
