A Wide Variety of Information

For the last several months we've added a lot of manuals to AirCorps Library, but for the most part they have been related to only a few topics. However, this week there is a little bit of everything!

Consolidated/Vultee BT-13:

The BT-13 Valiant is fast becoming a popular warbird. It has a much lower price point that other warbirds, and allow operators to break into the warbird community without (completely) breaking the bank. This week we added the specification below, but we also have almost 70 manuals and short Technical Orders for the BT-13 available for purchase and downlow. Click Here to browse them all. And of course if you're a member of AirCorps Library you also have access to over 3,000 BT-13 engineering drawings, or blueprints as some people call them. Create a membership today to access these, and the almost a half a million other warbird part drawings that we offer to our members!

BT-13, BT13A, BT-13B, BT-15, SNV-1, and SNV-2, Revision 8, A-2-571, 23-Jan-1950

North American Aviation (NAA) AT-6 Texan:

AT-6 and SNJ Series, Revision 9, A-2-575, 7-Aug-1959

Erection and Maintenance Instructions for T-6G, AN 01-60FFA-2, 10-April-1951

Naval Aircraft Factory N3N:

While the N3N is a small and relatively simple aircraft, there is a lot of interest, and a very strong community who loves and supports the aircraft. It's been several years since we added N3N info to AirCorps Library, and now are up to 15 manuals, the spec below, and of course several different sets of engineering drawings available to members. I think this is a really neat plane, and always love finding new information to better support the N3N community.

NAA/Ryan Navion:

You've already heard my harping on how excited I am about adding Navion resources to AirCorps Library over the last few weeks, so I won't bore you anymore with that. We found a straggler specification for the Navion this week, and I wanted to make sure that it got added in with the rest of the info.

Ryan PT-22

The PT-22 Recruit is an aircraft that I'd definitely like to get more information for, but for now I'll have to settle for the 8 manuals we currently have available, and the new spec we just added this week. Slow and steady wins the race!

Allison V-1710 Engine:

Depending on who you talk to, the Rolls-Royce V-1650 Merlin or the Allison V-1710 engine can dominate the conversation. Personally, I see the merits of both engines, and love to discuss either. It's always fun to find info for such a well known item - look for the counterpart to the manual below in the coming weeks (the instructors version of the instructional charts).

Component Manuals:

If you're a warbird pilot you've no doubt heard, or been involved in, a recent discussion related the the changes in aircraft fuels. While there are many different viewpoints on this subject, the general consensus seems to be that there will definitely be a fuel solution that will work just fine for the aircraft we hold so dearly. The fuel document below is one of a handful that discuss the fuel topic back during the war. Also, the parachute document below is a really fun one to take a look at - great images.

Manuals for Different Aircraft:

The aircraft manuals added to AirCorps Library this week came to us from a variety of different donors. Since we launched the site we've had great support from individuals who believe in what we are doing, and are willing to share their manuals with us for preservation!

Military Stock Lists:

Stock lists from World War II are interesting documents. They are categorized by topic, and each edition organizes parts and components numerically by part number. Most of the time the unit cost for each item is listed, like $2.24 for an engine tachometer adapter - fascinating. Some supplements are also illustrated, which is really fun to look at! A personal favorite of mine is the Clothing & Parachutes edition!
